It drives pretty well, is good in snowy fields, seems like a solid all-rounder, but gods damn do I wish that the new ones didn’t start at $55k CAD. A stripped down model would be awesome, but wouldn’t sell. Oh well.

Really, really expensive for about two or three months.

And then the gas prices stay high. And they start admitting it’s a recession (when it’s worse than that .)

By about 6 months in, just being able to get financing gets you $20k off the sticker. By month 9, $25k. When they start rolling off floor plan, they’ll whack $35k off just for taking a test drive.

The improvements in the front end make the 900 awesome, but I absolutely  cannot stand the interior. The 800 is typical “plastic pickup truck” but the 900s are “GM rental car spec.”

You can get a Tahoe “Custom” which is as low as they come. Its still $45k US.

They got REALLY cheap in 2008 ish . A buddy of mine considered trading in his year or two old Tahoe with 80k miles on it back then, and they offered him $12k for it. He balked at that, and they told him that quite honestly, they didn’t even want it. He looked out at their used lot, and saw a flotilla of them sitting for sale. He wisely kept it.

I dig Tahoes as well, but yeah, they’re crazy expensive.  I’ve been eyeballing police auctions for them.
